Between his debut as a Bear in Week 1 to his excellent performance in Week 2, Raymond has shed his label as return specialist and crafted an instant role on the Bears offense.
Raymond led the Bears in receptions against Carolina, and then shared that title with D'Andre Swift in Week 2. Across his first two Bears starts, Raymond has collected a cool 124 yards as a receiver, and added a considerable amount on special teams.

He's become a reliable pair of hands for Williams in most situations, and so far leads the Bears with receptions on the season.
With the new injury to Caleb Williams, we'll need to see whether Bagent and Raymond have a similar connection, because depending on the results of Williams' upcoming tests, that may have a big impact on how much production Raymond can bring to the table.
Raymond has been productive in most situations the Bears have put him in, and as a seasoned veteran with more experience in the receiver's room than anyone, he's a mentor on the field. Reporting from training camp frequently showed that Raymond had been spending plenty of time with rookie returner Zavion Thomas, just one example of him embracing the veteran role.
With the near future of the Bears now uncertain and murky due to injury, the remaining healthy players will need to be as tight and unified as possible. Raymond's returning skill has been shining through like the Bears knew it would when they signed him, but it's his offensive contributions that have made a big impact for Chicago.
Two games are not enough to define an entire season, but Raymond has already shown that Chicago can trust him wherever he lines up. If the Bears must navigate the coming weeks without Williams, that dependability could become even more important.
