While the majority of the attention given to the offseason moves made by the Chicago Bears focused on skill position players, the offensive line was a major point of contention as well.
After being sacked an astounding 68 times during his rookie season, first-year head coach Ben Johnson and GM Ryan Poles had to do something to provide Caleb Williams with more protection up front.
The front office brought in three veterans to try to plug those holes up front in Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson, and Drew Dalman. Unfortunately, things haven't gone according to plan thus far, as one of the key additions up front is already missing time to nurse an injury.
Injury-Prone Bears Addition Jonah Jackson Already Sidelined in Camp
The Bears traded a sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams this offseason to acquire Jackson so that he could be plugged in as the team's starting right guard. While there is still time for him to turn things around, it seems safe to say that this relationship isn't off to the best start.
According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, Jackson is already dealing with a leg injury and is considered to be day-to-day moving forward.
Braxton Jones had a scheduled rest day today. Jonah Jackson has a leg injury and is day-to-day.

The veteran has a noted injury history going back to his time with the Detroit Lions, as he has only appeared in 29 games over the last three seasons. Just four of those appearances came last season during his time with the Rams, as he was forced to miss the bulk of the 2024 campaign with a fractured scapula.
Being that Jackson is a former Pro Bowler, his missing a small portion of camp wouldn't be the end of the world for him or the Bears. However, if this becomes a lingering issue, then there could be a real problem in Chicago.
The only way to build a rapport in the trenches with the rest of the offensive line is to be out there with them on the field. Given this is a new team and a new scheme for Jackson, getting as many reps in as possible during camp will only help him once the regular season kicks off and the stakes are raised.
For his sake, as well as the sake of Caleb Williams, Bears fans have to hope that this leg injury is nothing that will keep him sidelined for long.
