The Chicago Bears are days away from their preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in what will be a nationally televised matchup on Sunday afternoon on NFL Network.
With those two teams working against one another in joint practices this week, fans have been able to read reports on how the first team units on offense and defense are faring against the Dolphins. One player, in particular, who is coming off an injury-shortened 2024 campaign, is making up for lost time with his play on the practice field, according to Adam Jahns of CHGO Sports.
Great period for the Bears defense just now.

Bears S Jaquan Brisker Shines in Joint Practice After 2024 Head Injury
With Jaquan Brisker healthy and ready to roll following the vestibular concussion he suffered during Chicago's Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers, the former second-round pick is making his presence felt in these joint practices as he has been one of the standout performers for the Bears' defense.
It is never wise to put too much stock into one performance during training camp. With that being the case, it is hard not to be pleased with reports of Brisker making plays all over the field against the Dolphins' first-team offense. In addition to Brisker's blitz that led to the sack referenced in the tweet above, Sun Sentinel Miami Dolphins beat reporter David Furones shared that the veteran safety also intercepted a pass from Tua Tagovailoa.
For a player who has just six sacks and three interceptions throughout his career, Brisker accomplishing both in a single joint practice session should not be overlooked. Despite the concussion issues that prematurely ended his 2024 season, Brisker has vowed to be the same player he has always been with his approach to playing safety. The early indications from his play in camp are backing those comments up.
It remains to be seen just how much playing time Brisker and the rest of the starters for Chicago will receive during the preseason. We know that Caleb Williams will not be suiting up this Sunday for certain, though.
Given Brisker's concussion history, playing it safe when it comes to the time he spends on the field during those exhibition games and letting him go full bore in joint practice sessions could be the best decision for both player and team in this scenario.
