Former Chicago Bears offensive lineman Nate Davis has finally cut this last tie to the Windy City as his residence in Highland Park was recently sold.

According to Dennis Rodkin of Chicago Business, Davis’ home was privately listed at $5 million in late December but was cut by $1 million and put immediately on the open market on Jan. 19. After the price cut, it did not take long for someone to buy the residence as the sale reportedly closed at $3.5 million a few days ago.

Davis was considered one of the building blocks of the Bears’ offensive line and bigger free agent signings in Ryan Poles’ second year as general manager. The Bears signed the former Tennessee Titans offensive lineman to a three-year, $30 million deal in 2023.

However, the veteran offensive lineman struggled to stay on the field in his two years with the Bears.

That said, Chicago felt Davis was a net negative and waived him in November after being a late scratch ahead of the team’s Week 10 game against the New England Patriots.

In his first season in the Windy City, Nate Davis only started in 11 games after missing four games because of injury and two due to the death of his mother. Despite only playing in 11 games and reportedly being a partial participant in Chicago’s voluntary offseason workout program in Year 1, the team stuck with Davis.

However, things did not get better for Davis this past season. The 28-year-old offensive lineman started in two games before suffering a groin injury. Davis’ groin injury set him back as Chicago moved on with veteran lineman Matt Pryor, who played well at right guard.

Even with the Bears having other injuries on the offensive line, Chicago went with other guys over Davis, making him a healthy scratch in Weeks 6 and 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Washington Commanders.

The veteran offensive lineman did not get signed by any other team after getting released by the Bears, so he’ll be looking for a new opportunity this offseason in free agency.
