The Chicago Bears have employed plenty of big men who make their home in the trenches on both sides of the ball over the years,.

One of the offensive linemen who called the Windy City home just two seasons ago is now joining his fourth team in as many seasons, quickly turning him into a journeyman at the position.

Failed Bears OL Experiment Dan Feeney Signs with 4th Team in 4 Seasons

While it didn't work out for former third-round pick Dan Feeney during his stint with the Bears, he has found a new opportunity with a Super Bowl contender in the AFC with the Buffalo Bills.

The Bears acquired Feeney from the Miami Dolphins before the 2023 season in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round draft pick. While he appeared in 16 games for Chicago during his lone season in the Windy City, he was primarily a depth piece up front, as he only made one start for the Bears.

In addition to the work he put in on the offensive line for Chicago, Feeney was also part of the special teams unit. In total, the former Indiana Hoosiers standout saw 91 snaps on offense for the Bears and an additional 66 snaps on special teams.

After spending the first four seasons of his professional career with the Los Angeles Chargers, Feeney has bounced around the league ever since. Following his time in Southern California, the offensive guard spent two seasons with the New York Jets. Then came his brief stay in Miami, which only lasted through training camp before he was traded to the Bears. This past season, Feeney appeared in eight games for the Minnesota Vikings, where he was used solely as a special teams player.

Now, the veteran lineman joins a Bills offensive line that returns its starters from last season's team that went 13-4 and finished atop the AFC East. With those pieces returning, it could be just as difficult for Feeney to crack the rotation in Buffalo as it was in Chicago.
