The NFL world is about to start back up with training camp set to begin all over the league in the coming days. Ben Johnson's tenure will officially kick into overdrive with rookies reporting to Halas Hall on July 19, with veterans coming not long after on July 22nd.

With the excitement through the roof in Chicago, a former WR may have been floated a chance to reunite with his former team for the 2025 season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Chargers WR Mike Williams informed the team that he's retiring from the NFL. He spent eight years in the NFL, with seven of them coming with the Chargers. With him stepping away, Keenan Allen could have a golden opportunity to join Los Angeles.

Ex-Bears WR Keenan Allen Floated Perfect Chance to Sign with Chargers

With a hole opening at the receiver position in Los Angeles, Allen is someone who could definitely head back there. He spent the first 12 years of his career with the Chargers, posting 904 receptions for 10,530 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns.

He was sent over to the Windy City last offseason. Although he wasn't prime Allen, he still provided the Bears with a sure-handed pass catcher, reeling in 70 catches for 744 yards and seven scores.

When Williams re-signed with the Chargers in March, he posted a picture online of himself and Allen, with the caption "run it back turbo", prompting Allen to repost it.

With the 33-year-old still sitting on the open market, it wouldn't be a shocker to see him go back to the place where it all started. Yeah, they have Ladd McConkey in the slot taking the bulk of the reps there, adding a vet like Allen can't be overstated.

He already has a rapport with Chargers QB Justin Herbert as well, making this connection far too easy to connect.

Williams played the role of a big-body deep threat, while Allen is more of the underneath pass-catcher. Regardless of the differing roles, Bears fans wouldn't mind seeing Allen head back to his old stomping grounds and get a chance to suit up for the 2025 season.
