Still, it is easy for Dexter to point to those numbers and say that he is in the same range of player. He was drafted later, but he was younger and has flashed just as much. Typically in the NFL, the player to sign the latest extension will want a small jump from the one before him. The salary cap continues to go up, so the players continue to jump each other to drive the market up.
Dexter is going to point to the similarities between the two, and it will be hard for him to sign for anything less than Wyatt. The Packers might feel that Wyatt was overpaid, but if anything, it will help them force the Bears to pay even more. That might be an additional small win for the team.
