Darnell Wright has become a staple of the Bears offensive line despite the fact that he's still under 25 years old. Since Wright was drafted 10th overall by the Bears back in the 2023 draft, and since then, he's become a key element to why the Bears have found success recently. Ryan Poles had become the Bears general manager shortly before that, and Wright was largely seen as the first domino to fall in the rebuild.
Wright was recently named the third most likely Bears player to be named to All-Pro honors in 2026, alongside Joe Thuney and Colston Loveland on the offense. Wright was named second team All-Pro in 2025, which means the jump from second team to first team should be significant. The Bears have relied upon Wright a lot throughout his rookie contract, and it makes sense why the team has already exercised his fifth year option.
Learning from one of the best
Wright is a natural opposite to Super Bowl champion Thuney, forging a left and right tackle duo that could stand toe to toe with any offensive line in football. Nobody can deny Thuney's experience or ability as he's stood firm on the line for some of the most successful teams ever. Thuney is a wealth of knowledge and experience that Wright surely has consistent access to, and Wright would be wise to use an advantage like that.
Wright has been nothing short of exemplary for young players entering the league. He's been a very valuable piece of the puzzle when it comes to the Bears success, and it all starts with protecting the quarterback. Wright has shown himself capable time and time again. Caleb Williams went from being sacked 68 times in 2024, to only 24 times in 2025. That's an improvement that any offensive line would be proud of.
Wright has already developed into one of the NFL's premier young offensive tackles, but there is still room for him to climb. If he continues building on his chemistry with Joe Thuney and anchors another successful Bears offensive line, an All-Pro selection may only be a matter of time.
