Cubs superstar Pete Crow-Armstrong is making a strong case for NL MVP

The 24-year-old outfielder is dominating June and rapidly climbing into the National League's MVP conversation.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is becoming an MVP candidate, and there's nothing anyone can seemingly do to stop him. His power surge in June has come amid struggles his team has been facing, and it hasn't slowed him down one bit. PCA has already hit 9 home runs in June, he's averaging a .437 average this month, and he's rocking a .481 OBP. I know that not everyone likes to dive into the statistics of baseball, but that's absolutely insane.

He's absolutely become the Cubs most dangerous bat in the lineup, and for good reason. Opposing pitchers must plan for him to be a consistent threat. Yet despite this, they can't seem to slow him down. The young outfielder has become one of the hottest names in baseball, and it's not a surprise that he's favored for an All-Star spot.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is doing things few players in baseball can match

For PCA to be leading in so many categories all at the same time is no small feat. To lead the league in average, home runs, slugging, and OPS, is something you would hear of old legends like Sammy Sosa or Albert Pujols. For a young outfielder to be doing it in 2026 with just as much excitement and energy is something to behold.

Let's also not forget that PCA is a spectacular outfielder who routinely makes the difficult catches look easy. At this point in time, prior to the All-Star break, it would appear that a Gold-Glove is imminent. His combination of power, speed, and plate discipline are some of the things that set the 24 year old apart.

The Cubs are well aware of the anomaly they have in PCA. It's no secret why they signed him to a massive extension that holds him under team control until at least 2032. And even then, the star outfielder will still only be 31 years old and likely up for another contract if his gameplay hasn't severely declined.

Crow-Armstrong has already established himself as one of the faces of the Cubs franchise, but June has shown he may be on his way to becoming one of the faces of Major League Baseball. If this level of production continues through the summer, the MVP conversation won't be asking whether he belongs, it'll be asking whether anyone can catch him.
