The Chicago Bears are getting healthier at the right time. The first injury report of Week 8 lists only five players ahead of Monday night's game in Seattle, and the biggest names on it are trending toward playing.

Linebackers T.J. Edwards and Jack Sanborn were both listed as full participants, while running back Kyle Monangai remained out, while two more contributors were listed as limited.

There is one caveat, however, as this is a virtual estimation. Due to the Bears playing on Monday night, the whole timeline is pushed back a whole day. It's routine for teams to conduct this virtual walkthrough on a day where the team doesn't hold physical practice.

The linebacker room is whole again

T.J. Edwards has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, and Sanborn was forced to sit out of the New England game in Week 7 due to concussion protocol. Getting both of those guys back for their trip to Seattle is not a small thing.

D'Marco Jackson was listed as a limited participant due to an ankle injury, but thanks to Edwards and Sanborn returning, and the recent acquisition of Jeffrey Simmons suddenly shows that the Bears defense has depth.

Seattle wants to run and be the more physical team, and Chicago's defense has been stretched thin for weeks. Their performance against New England was encouraging, but the defense is a much better unit when everyone is healthy.

Monangai is still the bad news

Kyle Monangai is the sole Bears player who didn't participate. simultaneously dealing with a thumb and a turf toe injury that's kept him on the sidelines since Week 4 against the Jets, following his 30 carry, 146 yard, two touchdown performance.

Chicago's run game still has D'Andre Swift, but the Ben Johnson system functions best with two excellent running backs at the team's disposal. Roschon Johnson has stepped up to fill the gap, but the recent signing of Zavier Scott to the practice squad, followed by his immediate promotion to the active roster suggests that the Bears aren't fully on-board with him in the backfield. Until Monangai returns, it appears that Johnson and Scott will be alternating touches.

The last player on the list is third round rookie, Malik Muhammad. The young cornerback has impressed since his debut back in Week 1, and he's even enjoyed a few starts in the absence of Kyler Gordon and the woes of Tyrique Stevenson and Jaylon Johnson. But like Monangai, Muhammad is also dealing with a toe injury, this one sustained during the Thursday night game against New England in Week 7.

Malik Muhammad is the last name to watch

Muhammad was listed as limited, and with an extra day of rest, hopefully he'll be ready to go come Monday night.

As stated above, this is only the injury report that the Bears listed on Thursday. With the game not until Monday night, there will be two additional reports released, one on Friday, and another on Sunday, so it's important to take these lists with a large grain of salt. Nobody on this list is promised, nor are they guaranteed anything.

But if the Bears can stay this healthy and keep these reports short and simple like this, they will take one of their more healthier rosters into Seattle on Monday night, and that's what it'll take to beat the defending Super Bowl champions in their own building.
