The Chicago Bears have a lot of players who can decide how the season goes. However, Courtney Cronin of ESPN highlighted three that every fan should be following in training camp. The progress of Kyler Gordon, Logan Jones, and Zavion Thomas could change the perception of the Bears entering the season.Â

The progress of Kyler Gordon will obviously be a major development for Bears fans to follow. Gordon has not gotten off on the right foot with head coach Ben Johnson. Johnson has not bought all the way into his soft tissue injuries, and has been harsh in his expectations for Gordon to return from them.Â
Gordon is entering a year that could be his last in Chicago. If the coaching staff does not warm up to him, it will be easy for them to release him and save a good chunk of cap space. When he is healthy, he is a high-quality slot cornerback. Fans need to keep their eyes on Gordon to see if he can continue to stay on the field this summer. If not, the team will not be afraid to push rookie Malik Muhammad into the lineup.Â
Cronin compared Zavion Thomas to Jahmyr Gibbs. You read that right. Thomas was a wide receiver at LSU, but the talk all offseason has been about Thomas playing running back, or at the very least, being a gadget player.Â
He does not have production at receiver, but he does have speed and shiftiness that make him a player to follow. Where he aligns and how often the Bears try to get him involved on offense could tell us whether he is closer to Tarik Cohen or Velus Jones as a draft pick.
The last name to follow is rookie center Logan Jones. Jones does not need to start right away thanks to veteran addition Garrett Bradbury. However, Bradbury is on his third team in as many years for a reason. He is a stopgap option.Â
Once the team knows that Jones is ready, they can throw him into the starting lineup. That could be as early as week 1, but it does not even have to be during his rookie season, either. Still, all eyes will be on Jones and how much he progresses during his first training camp. The hope is that he can hit the ground running.
