Caleb Williams has been named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week for Week 6! This news comes as a bit of a surprise given that Williams had only just returned from injury, but it becomes much less surprising when you take a look at the stat sheet.
Williams posted 30/36, completing for 305 yards, 1 touchdown, no turnovers, and a passer rating of 111.2. Completing that many passes equals out to an 83.3% completion rate, a step above what we've come to expect from him. That's the highest completion percentage that Williams has posted in his entire career in the NFL, and it's a far cry from the poor 58.1% that he posted across all of last season.

At present, Williams leads the league in completion percentage among qualified quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks, something that's never been said about him before.
Chicago is collecting firsts around its quarterback
With this week's awards, the Bears have now collected two different player of the week titles after D'Andre Swift was selected following the Bears shootout against the Carolina Panthers back in Week 1. It's the first time the Bears have ever done so in the first six weeks of the season.
This is Caleb's second time winning the honor, with the first one coming after Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys last season. The Bears have only ever had one other quarterback to hold that honor twice as well, with the other being Jay Cutler.
With a short week in front of them, Williams will hardly have time to bask in the glow of this most recent accolade. The New England Patriots can be a force to be reckoned with, and though they may have started the season slowly, they've picked up right where they left off.
Head coach Ben Johnson has put together a winning culture in Chicago for the first time in years, and for once we have a franchise quarterback that actually fits the role. With any luck, this won't be the last time this season that Williams takes home another trophy.
