The Chicago Bears have a huge hole on their coaching staff as they are searching for a new head coach. After firing Matt Eberflus and naming Thomas Brown as the interim during the season, Chicago is bringing in multiple different guys for interviews.

The Bears have a good group of players on the team that make this an enticing spot. Quarterback Caleb Williams is a big reason why Chicago's job is intriguing, and the young signal caller spoke about what qualities he wants in the next coach. He is seemingly hinting at Detroit offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

Bears News: Caleb Williams Gives Details on What He Wants in Next Coach

Williams was a guest on the St. Brown Podcast, hosted by Amon-Ra and Equanimeous. The 23-year-old was asked what he wants him in the next head coach and said, "Strong minded, a leader of men... I think that's a cool thing about what you all got over there in Detroit."

Williams then said selfishly he would want an offensive-minded guy to grow with but wouldn't mind a CEO type of leader.

The 2024 first-overall pick hinted at Johnson being the ideal candidate, and that same sentiment is felt amongst the fanbase. Back on Jan. 11, Chicago interviewed Johnson for the vacant position.

Johnson is one of the hottest candidates on the open market and is known for being an elite offensive guru in this league. During the last coaching cycle, Johnson decided not to take any positions and returned to Detroit. This season, their offense was explosive once again.

In 2024, the Lions were second in total offense (409.5) and passing offense (263.2) while being sixth in rushing offense (146.4). In addition, they were first in points per game (33.2).

Getting that offensive mind and play-caller in Chicago would be a game-changer for the franchise, along with the development of Williams. We'll have to see what direction the Bears decide to go in, but Williams has his eye on one specific candidate for sure.
