The Chicago Bears are 6-2, and the engine of the whole thing has been the quarterback. Since Caleb Williams returned from his hamstring injury, he has completed 73.8% of his passes for 860 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions across three straight wins. He has thrown one interception all season, and his team just waltzed into Seattle and beat the defending champions in their own house on primetime.

That run has started to pull bigger claims out of people, and the latest came from Brian Urlacher. The Hall of Fame linebacker, who spent 13 seasons in the middle of Chicago's defense, went on the Rich Eisen Show and did not talk around it. He went straight at the quarterback play in the NFC North, and where the Bears sit because of it.

"They're in a tough division. They've got really good teams. But I'm going to go back to the quarterback play, and he's playing the best in that division right now. I think they have a leg up on the other teams. They have a great chance to do it on both sides of the football. They're great."
Brian Urlacher

It's Urlacher's "both sides" comment that is doing the real work there. Chicago owns the best third down defense in the NFL, and they've just added defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to their front, a move that should not be underestimated. That's the kind of thing that takes a middle of the pack defense and immediately upgrades it.

The Bears currently sit at No. 3 on NFL.com's power rankings, and the division seems to be tilting in the direction of Chicago. The Minnesota Vikings have been a defensive juggernaut, but their offense has been lacking, and they're now even reportedly starting Carson Wentz against Buffalo in Week 9.

That's how it came to be that Urlacher is discussing the Bears not only winning the division, but also discussing the very real Super Bowl aspirations this team has openly displayed, and he said it out in the open.

"I can't even imagine what it would be like there [Chicago] if they not just get there, but if they win it. Wow.", said Urlacher.

Chicago gets it's next chance to look the part on Sunday night against Tampa Bay, and for once, everyone, including the man who anchored the Bears defense for over a decade, is on board.
