The Chicago Bears position groups are mostly set as they get ready for OTAs and training camp. What are the biggest questions for each position room entering the summer?
Chicago Bears biggest depth chart questions
Quarterback
Can Caleb Williams take the next step? is the obvious question here. Williams was up and down, but the highs showed that Ben Johnson could take him to new levels if he plays consistently. The question is whether that can happen.
Running Back
Did the Bears do enough to add depth? D’Andre Swift has had an up-and-down career, and Kyle Monangai is a seventh-round pick. They both have promise, but if either struggles, the room will fall apart.
Tight End
How often do we see the three-tight-end sets? The Bears drafted Sam Roush high enough that it should be one of their more popular personnel groupings.
Wide Receiver
Who is the third receiver? Khaliff Raymond, Zavion Thomas, and Jahdae Walker all bring different skill sets. Which one of them ends up seeing the field the most and producing this season for the Bears?
Offensive Line
The obvious question here is who starts at left tackle? You could argue that three different options between Braxton Jones, Jedrick Wills, and Theo Benedet have legitimate chances to finish the season with the most snaps at left tackle.
Interior Defensive Line
Can the depth overcome the lack of talent? They added James Lynch, Neville Gallimore, and Kentavius Street. On their own they are not impressive additions, but perhaps in a rotation where they all stay fresh they can get enough out of the group.
Edge Rusher
How healthy is Dayo Odeyingbo? The Bears have acted like they expect to see him on the field and making an impact early in the season. However, that should be a major question coming off of the injury that he is.
Linebacker
Was it smart to let Tremaine Edmunds walk? The Bears essentially were able to replace Edmunds with Devin Bush, D’Marco Jackson, and Keyshaun Elliott. Is the added depth better than the one starter?
Cornerback
Can Tyrique Stevenson earn a contract? It has been an up-and-down career for Stevenson, and now he enters a make-or-break season. Does he give the Bears a tough decision?
Safety
How much better is this room? The Bears paid Coby Bryant a combination of what Jaquan Brisker and Kevin Byard will make this year. With Dillon Thieneman being a round 1 pick, the Bears' safety room should be a lot better.
