Betting the Quarterback

DraftKings expects Williams to have a big day. They aren't providing plus odds until 250 passing yards, indicating they project him to throw for close to that number. You can also win a decent amount of money with two touchdowns but as we say, touchdowns are a fickle thing.

Given the Jaguars' strength in run defense and their extreme weakness in defending the pass, it is likely that the Bears may go one-dimensional, or maybe one-and-a-half dimensions.

Pick: Caleb Williams 275+ Passing Yards (+190)

Betting the Running Game

Swift has had back-to-back great games. Last week, he was still under four yards a carry, but he had a rushing touchdown and over 115 scrimmage yards. In Week 4, he had over 160 scrimmage yards.

However, the Jaguars' defense is a bit stiffer, and it is likely that his yards per carry will be much lower this week. He will get the touches, but the yards may not follow.

Not so quietly, Williams has been gaining first downs with his legs. He seems to have developed better instincts about when to stay in the pocket and when to take the yards in front of him. With the Jaguars worried about the pass, there should be open ground in front of him. Last week, Williams had 34 yards rushing.

Pick: Caleb Williams 25+ Rushing Yards (+145)

Betting the Wide Receivers

DraftKings has learned their lesson with WR D.J. Moore and raised his line to 5.5 receptions when it has been at 4.5 the last several weeks. TE Cole Kmet pays out big at +140 for 40+ yards, WR Rome Odunze pays out at 50+ yards at +145 odds, Keenan Allen pays out at 50+ yards and +105, and Moore would need 70+ yards to receive +105 odds.

Last week, the Bears again had two receivers with five catches (Odunze and Moore) and two receivers with three catches (Kmet and Allan), while TE Gerald Everett and RB D'Andre Swift had two catches each. Williams throws to the open man. Kmet is especially interesting as he turned just three catches into 57 yards.

We're doubling down on receivers but believe Williams will look Odunze's way this time as the Jaguars focus their attention on Moore.

Pick: Rome Odunze 50+ Receiving Yards (+145) & D'Andre Swift 25+ Receiving Yards (+130)
