The Chicago Bears have been using the last few weeks to get on the practice field before everyone goes on a break before training camp.
Ben Johnson has made it his priority to establish a new culture in the Windy City while having players learn a new scheme. It's a lot being thrown at these players, but it isn't anything they can't handle.
Following practice on Tuesday, receiver D.J. Moore spoke with the media and pointed out he quickly changed his body language after it was called out by Johnson.
Moore said, "I did it once, and then we nipped it in the bud, and it's never happened again."
Ben Johnson Has D.J. Moore Changing His Bad Body Language
Moore has shown his displeasure on the field multiple times, but that's something that won't fly with Johnson around. And that's for the better. Things like bad body language add extra and unnecessary storylines. Especially if the team is losing, it's another layer of drama that doesn't need to be discussed.
Even though Johnson has only been the head coach for four months, his impact is being felt on the roster. Having Moore already change bad habits is a great sign.
His talent on the field was never in question, but all these other things have an impact on the team and offense.
With Caleb Williams entering his second season, the Bears need Moore to step up as not only a player but a leader. This is a positive step in the right direction.
The 28-year-old is the No. 1 option in this passing attack, and Johnson will be sure to find ways to get him the football. Over the last two seasons in Chicago, he had 194 catches for 2,330 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
The connection between Williams and Moore will be something fun to watch this season, as Johnson is certainly cooking up plays to get this duo going.
