The Chicago Bears are part of some of the most iconic rivalries in the NFL, as the history between the teams in the NFC North makes every showdown a grudge match, in a way.

While those rivalries are well-known throughout the Windy City, Bears fans are about to see an old rivalry rekindled this season. This is thanks to the biggest name still on the free agent market finally deciding whether they'd continue their career or ride off into the sunset, where Chicago fans would have, hopefully, never heard from them again.

Bears Will Rekindle Old Rivalry With Steelers After Aaron Rodgers Signing

Aaron Rodgers has reportedly agreed on a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, which he plans to sign ahead of the team's upcoming mandatory minicamp, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

It is no secret that the relationship between Rodgers and the Bears fan base is a rocky one. Anytime a player states publicly that he "owns" another franchise, as Rodgers infamously did at Soldier Field in December 2021, there is going to be well-deserved backlash.

Giving Chicago sports fans any reason to dislike Rodgers more than they already did was a choice Rodgers was fine with making at the time. Now, things stand to be a bit different with Rodgers suiting up for his third team, as he will be embarking on an entirely new challenge in the AFC North.

Those are things for Rodgers and the Steelers coaching staff to worry about, though. What Bears fans should be focused on following this news is sweet revenge. Rodgers will lead Pittsburgh into Soldier Field this November as the Bears are set to host the Steelers on Nov. 23, 2025.

After all of the frustration that Rodgers put the city of Chicago through during his time with the Green Bay Packers, the new-look Bears have the opportunity to knock the veteran quarterback off his pedestal. With Ben Johnson now calling the shots on the sidelines and a plethora of new weapons flanking Caleb Williams, this will be a game that is circled on Chicago's schedule.
