Chicago Bears fans cannot stand the Green Bay Packers for a good reason, as the two sides share one of the longest rivalries in the history of the game.

With the Packers making headlines on Monday following the decision to release veteran defensive back Jaire Alexander, the reaction from the NFC North and the rest of the NFL came quickly.

While he has yet to take the field for his first taste of this fierce rivalry, one of the new faces joining the Bears seemed to be quite happy with Green Bay's decision to let the All-Pro defender walk away from the franchise as a free agent.

Bears' Luther Burden III Happy About Green Bay Waiving Jaire Alexander

The Bears invested quite a bit on the offensive side of the ball this offseason, so seeing the Packers elect to give up on reworking Alexander's deal or finding a trade partner to gain some compensation for his departure was a welcome sight for players and fans alike in Chicago.

One of the players who seemed to be especially excited about the departure was Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III. Shortly after the news of Alexander's release, Burden III took to Instagram and commented, "uh oh," on the message.

Burden III has already vowed to make every NFL team that passed on selecting him in the 2025 NFL Draft pay for their mistake. So, a division rival losing one of their top options at cornerback is a welcome sight for the talented and motivated rookie.

The only unfortunate part of this situation for Burden III is that he and his Bears teammates will be forced to wait until December to get a piece of the Alexander-less Packers, as the two sides are scheduled to square off twice over the final five weeks of the regular season.
