The Chicago Bears are trying to fix any potential issues before they go off for their Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8. It's a tough NFC North divisional matchup, yet one that represents how much these two teams have at stake.
Chicago, particularly under new head coach Ben Johnson, can accomplish something that the franchise hasn't in years. If that happens and the team reaches its ceiling, Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams will be credited.
Unfortunately, a Bears rookie just received some injury news that'll derail him for the start of the season.

Bears Rookie CB Zah Frazier Suffers Long-Term Injury
As reported by Chicago insider Bred Biggs, rookie cornerback Zah Frazier was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list on Monday. For someone who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft, it's a significant development and one that changes the coaching staff's measurement of the depth chart with roster cutdown day less than 24 hours away.
Frazier, who starred at UTSA and has ideal length, is projected to be a valuable contributor for the franchise in the most important of moments. It's obviously not going to happen now, but this is still a player who could turn into a starter down the line.
The big question is mostly about whether or not the Bears believe Frazier can get playing time. It appears that, prior to this ailment, Johnson had a role in mind for him. Now, the questions arise about his long-term prospects. That's nothing against Frazier's outlook, but more representative of the reality of his injury.
If you're a late-round draft pick and will miss the year, what's the benefit for the organization to keep you? Few teams keep players in this realm, and it'd be a surprise for Frazier to stick around now that we know he'll likely miss the season.
There's a chance that Frazier proved his worth to the coaching staff. There's a chance he didn't. We'll soon find out, but here's wishing him the best.
