The Chicago Bears have put all their attention on the Green Bay Packers and their Wild Card contest. With that being the case, it is troubling to see the Bears are still dealing with some injuries and questions in the secondary after that was one of the ongoing themes of the regular season.

Jaylon Johnson expressed that he's less than 100 percent, which puts more attention on Tyrique Stevenson. And based on Wednesday's injury report, Chicago may be without defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, who was a DNP for both Tuesday and Wednesday's sessions. The defensive end suffered a concussion in Week 17 and has been placed in the league's protocol as a result.

With the game kicking off on Saturday night, the time is ticking for Tryon-Shoyinka to get cleared, but things aren't looking good.

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka Has Missed Two Practices for Bears This Week

Back in November, Chicago acquired Tryon-Shoyinka from the Cleveland Browns for a 2026 sixth-round pick. It was the only defensive trade they made at the deadline and gave them a depth piece up front.

Since arriving in the Windy City, Tryon-Shoyinka hasn't played in more than 34 percent of the snaps in a single game. Across eight games with the franchise, he has logged 13 total tackles. Despite being on the field as a rotational piece, Tryon-Shoyinka hasn't been able to generate pressure for this team. He has finished with one TFL, zero sacks, and four hurries.

The expectations certainly weren't high when Tryon-Shoyinka was traded to the Bears, but you still want to have your players healthy going into the playoffs. The 26-year-old was unable to participate in Week 18's practices, and this issue has carried over into this week as well, which isn't ideal. Every player in the protocol must undergo one complete practice to be cleared. Yet, things don't look good in that area for him.

If the University of Washington product can't give it a go in this contest, Dominique Robinson will likely be EDGE3. It has been an up-and-down season for Robinson, but he's coming off arguably his best game of the season. In the Week 18 loss to the Lions, Robinson finished with a season-high 74.9 overall grade on PFF, with two tackles and one QB hurry.

Chicago will need everyone on the team to put their best foot forward, as it's win or go home from now on. Things can still change for Tryon-Shoyinka, as Thursday's injury report hasn't come out. Nonetheless, time is quickly evaporating, and the Bears must be prepared to play without him.
