With the trade deadline less than two weeks away, the Chicago Bears are expected to be one of the more active teams out there. After trading for Jeffery Simmons, the team has more time to get another deal done.

So, it should not be surprising that when Jeremy Fowler of ESPN listed the top 25 trade candidates, the Bears were tied to four names. Who are the Bears' best fits to trade for in the wake of Simmons, according to the ESPN insider?

Four best trade fits for Chicago

Josh Sweat

Sweat signed with the Arizona Cardinals thinking that he would play for Jonathan Gannon. Sweat put up 12 sacks in 2025, but now that Gannon is gone, the defense is not quite a fit for him. He does have two sacks, but he is not quite as impactful. The 2-5 Cardinals would be wise to move him to a better fit. Fowler says the Bears are that.

Khalil Mack

Mack to the Bears appears to be the most common pairing at the deadline. The Chargers do not have any wins. The Bears need an edge rusher. Mack used to play for Chicago, and they have fond memories of his time there. Beyond that, he is a great scheme fit for Dennis Allen.

Mack signed a one-year deal in free agency, so he is going to leave the Chargers after the year. Their best move would be to get something back for him before the deadline.

Jermaine Johnson

Johnson is a former first-round pick who has not lived up to expectations, whether it be fit in the defense or injury. Getting drafted by the New York Jets and traded to the Tennessee Titans does not help. He is on his fifth-year option and will be a free agent after the year. The Titans have one win and are looking to sell.

Johnson flashed 7.5 sack upside in 2023 and has always been a good run defender. His body type fits what Dennis Allen likes. The fit makes sense.

Alontae Taylor

Taylor was drafted by the New Orleans Saints and played under Dennis Allen when he was with the team. The issue with Taylor is that he is best playing in the slot. The Titans are asking him to play more on the outside, and it has led to them making him inactive. The Bears need cornerback help, and he would be able to slide into the defense with ease. For the right cost, it makes sense.
