The Chicago Bears had a successful season under Ben Johnson, advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs. The Bears seek to continue building for the future, and it's great to see the division rival Packers lose a flurry of coaches.

Over the past couple of weeks, Green Bay lost Jeff Hafley, Jon-Eric Sullivan, and many more coaches to jobs elsewhere. The spiral continued for the Packers on Thursday, as the Philadelphia Eagles hired Sean Mannion to become their offensive coordinator. Now the Packers have a void to fill at QB coach, adding another spot they need to fill.

And Bears fans have to be smiling, as one of their rivals is down another good coach.

Bears Have to Be Thrilled with Packers Losing Sean Mannion

Mannion was part of the Packers staff for two seasons, serving as an offensive assistant before being elevated to quarterbacks coach. Despite having two years of coaching experience under his belt, he's been praised by other colleagues and former coaches.

ESPN's Peter Schrager reported he received one text regarding Mannion, "Super smart, great teacher, collaborative, and an A+ human."

He did great work with both Jordan Love and Malik Willis in 2025. In 15 games, Jordan Love completed 66 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Meanwhile, Willis flashed when thrown into action, compiling 422 passing yards, 123 rushing yards, and five total touchdowns.

It's clear that Mannion helped in their development, and now the Packers will be forced to find another voice to come in. From Chicago's perspective, this is great news. Green Bay seen two of its best coaches leave, with Hafley and Mannion elsewhere. In addition, multiple guys followed Hafley down to the Dolphins, opening several spots.

Green Bay did bring in Jonathan Gannon as their next defensive coordinator, but questions remain after a bad stint with the Arizona Cardinals.

In 2025, the Packers went 9-7-1 and placed second in the division. Meanwhile, the Bears showed the world things will be different moving forward, beating them in the last two games, including the 31-27 win in the wild-card round. They also captured their first division title since 2018, which can't be understated.

There's no love lost between these franchises, so anything that goes south for the Packers is great in the Windy City. This is just the latest example of what has been an offseason of change for them, and it comes from the Bears' pressure.
