The Chicago Bears are red hot, having won five consecutive games. With the calendar turning to December, the Bears are the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but they have been dealing with several injuries, especially at linebacker.

They've been able to weather the storm thus far, but they may have been gifted an early Christmas present at linebacker. NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported on Tuesday that the Tennessee Titans and LB Kyzir White have agreed to part ways. He's set to go on waivers and will hit free agency if he goes unclaimed.

While the Bears have to see if they can actually claim him first, he would be a solid addition for a team that needs help in the middle of the field.

Kyzir White Could Be an Option at LB for Bears Following His Release

The Titans are 1-11 on the season, and they are firmly out of playoff contention. White has missed the majority of the season with a hamstring injury, but is healthy now. And considering all the injuries Chicago has dealt with at linebacker thus far, White would be a welcome addition.

Chicago has Tremaine Edmunds on IR with a groin injury, while T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell missed some time as well due to their own injury issues. Their absences have forced the Bears to trot out guys like Ruben Hyppolite II and D'Marco Jackson to fill in the gaps.

Hyppolite II then suffered a shoulder injury during his first start in Week 12 and was ruled out for the Eagles game. Nonetheless, the Bears still found ways to bounce back, but adding a guy like White would be fantastic.

He's a veteran with 93 career games (73 starts) under his belt. In those contests, White has compiled 618 total tackles, 34 TFLs, 23 pass deflections, and six interceptions. The 29-year-old has three 100-plus tackle seasons on his resume, including a whopping 137 tackles last season with the Cardinals.

The Bears know their 1-2 punch at linebacker will be Edmunds and Edwards when healthy, but the way things have gone this year, there's no guarantee that we'll see this unit at full strength. Chicago is in the midst of a playoff push, so getting a capable defender at a position of need would be huge.

White has proven to be productive on several teams, and he would be thrilled to join a Bears team that is rolling. It'll be something to watch and see if anyone claims White, but if no one ahead of Chicago does, they would be wise to bring him into the building for the remainder of the season. This seems to be an ideal fit for the Bears, and it'll be interesting to see how it will unfold.
