The Chicago Bears have won two straight games as they enter Week 6's clash with the Washington Commanders. Head coach Ben Johnson's group has shown steady improvement, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

One thing that Johnson loves to do is run the ball. The Bears are currently 24th in the NFL in rushing offense (102.3), which isn't where they want to be. They need more explosivity in the backfield, and a trade for New York Jets running back Breece Hall could solve that issue.

ESPN's Rich Cimini released an article and discussed several Jets players who will draw attention on the trade block, and named Hall as a top candidate to be moved.

"He is in the final year of his rookie contract and a productive player (eighth in total scrimmage yards), which should make him attractive to contending teams," Cimini wrote. "He's been the subject of trade rumors since the draft, and they will only intensify."

With New York being 0-5, they could look to move on from Hall for draft capital, and the Bears would be a perfect addition. Here's a trade that would make it happen.

Bears Acquire Breece Hall in Projected Trade

In this scenario, the Bears send over a 2026 fourth-round pick to the Jets in exchange for Hall, which is fair value for a player on an expiring contact. Perhaps some conditions could be attached that would improve it to a third-rounder depending on the number of games Hall plays or the rushing yards he racks up with Chicago.

In 45 career games, Hall has 2,684 rushing yards and 14 rushing scores. As a pass-catcher, he has 169 receptions for 1,442 rushing yards and eight receiving touchdowns. During the 2025 season, Hall is currently seventh in the NFL in rushing yards (351) with 5.3 yards per carry.

The Iowa State product has the explosion to be a big-play threat, as he has three carries of 20-plus yards this year.

The Bears' rushing attack is leaving a ton to be desired right now. D'Andre Swift has 187 rushing yards with 3.3 yards per carry in 2025. They have quarterback Caleb Williams being second on the team in rushing yards (110), which is less than ideal.

Adding a dynamic playmaker like Hall to the backfield will only enhance the offense and give Johnson another force in the backfield. The Bears' offense has improved with each passing week, and the addition of Hall could help take them to the next level, providing them with the backfield juice they currently lack.
