The Chicago Bears just made perhaps the best selection of the 2025 NFL Draft, landing former Missouri Tigers star wide receiver Luther Burden III early in the second round. Well, after he was expected to be taken, Burden now represents a steal.
With Caleb Williams under center and new head coach Ben Johnson calling the shots, the Bears have a foundation for a sustainable future. D.J Moore, Rome Odunze, and Burden III might give Chicago the NFL's best trio of wideouts, yet it's still a situation to monitor.
Regardless, Johnson now has a group that he can feel confident about. Burden III is a future star and someone who can contribute both on offense and special teams.

Bears' Luther Burden Pick is Steal of NFL Draft
During his career as a Missouri Tiger, Luther Burden III was a star by any reasonable definition of the word. During 2023, he caught 86 passes for 1,212 yards and nine TDs, showcasing an incredible ability on special teams as well.
This is someone who can impact the game on multiple levels, and Johnson will appropriately utilize him. It's almost embarrassing that he fell this far, and Burden III will prove to be the steal of the draft when it's all said and done.

Williams should be grateful. Players like Burden III don't come around daily, and this is the type of situation that'll benefit everyone involved.
As both a punt and kick returner, Burden III's value is obvious. It helps that he's one of the country's best receivers as well, and now Johnson can craft unique plays that'll let Burden III showcase his rare skillset. Make no mistake, Chicago found a diamond in the rough here.
What a steal. For fans of Burden III, it's hard to see him go elsewhere. For the Bears, this is perhaps the best possible pick they could've made.
