Bears Get Huge Injury News From First Practice Following Bye
By Cem Yolbulan
The Chicago Bears are coming out of their bye week after winning three games in a row to improve to 4-2. After a slow start to the season, especially on the offensive end, the Bears are clicking and look like they will make some noise in the ultra-competitive NFC North.
Looking at the next three games on the schedule, the Bears have an excellent opportunity to improve to at least 6-3 before their first division game of the season. With matchups against the Commanders, Cardinals, and Patriots coming up, Caleb Williams and Co. shouldn't settle for anything fewer than two wins.
Fortunately for them, they will have a nearly fully healthy roster to do so. According to Bears insider Brad Biggs, offensive lineman Larry Borom and running back Travis Homer are both beginning their 21-day practice windows to return to action.
Bears News: Chicago Getting Healthier Coming Out of the Bye Week
Biggs added that fellow offensive lineman Ryan Bates will likely miss Week 8 before returning to the field next week. Joining Bates on the sideline is cornerback Kyler Gordon with a hamstring injury and safety Jaquan Brisker who is still out with a concussion. They are, however, listed as day-to-day.
After struggling early in the season, Chicago's offensive line found its groove. Braxton Jones-Teven Jenkins-Coleman Shelton-Matt Pryor-Darnell Wright group has been doing a good job in the last few weeks. Larry Borom, who started at left tackle and right tackle in his previous three seasons in Chicago, may find it difficult to crack the rotation. Whether Ryan Bates gets his job back from Matt Pryor also remains to be seen.
Regardless of how the rotation shakes out, it's great news to see the Bears get healthy before a crucial stretch of games.
