The Chicago Bears have made it a priority to make significant changes this offseason. With Ben Johnson at the helm, the Bears make sure to make additions in free agency and through the trade market.
Arguably, the biggest acquisitions came along the offensive line, with Jonah Jackson, Joe Thuney, and Drew Dalman landing in Chicago.
While these moves got fans excited, certain players weren't re-signed for the 2025 season. Linebacker Jack Sanborn is someone who wasn't brought back but revealed he wished things could have gone a bit differently in free agency.
Sanborn said, "As a player, you always think the best of yourself and obviously I would have loved to have been tendered there, but at the same time...just going through this whole process being my first time through it, I didn't know what to expect to come out of it."

Jack Sanborn Wishes Their Could Have Been a Pathway Back to Chicago
Sanborn added, "All I can say really is I'm excited for the future, I'm excited to be in Dallas and have this opportunity and win a lot of football games with the Cowboys."
The Wisconsin product went on to sign a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, but he's still thinking about the Bears. Over three seasons in Chicago (48 games), he made 19 starts. Sanborn had 164 total tackles, 14 TFLs, six QB hits, five pass breakups, and 4.5 sacks.
He gave the Bears a defender who is a solid depth piece with the ability to play on special teams. During all three seasons in Chicago, he played in at least 20% of the defensive snaps and at least 40% (a whopping 84% in 2024) of snaps on special teams.
The Bears decided to let him walk, and he reunited with Matt Eberflus in Dallas. Even though he's excited about this chapter of his career, it sounds like he wanted to return to Chicago instead.
