Now that the free agent signings have been made and the draft picks have been selected, it is a good time to look back at the depth chart and see where things align as the team gets ready for OTAs and training camp. What will happen along the interior offensive line this summer?

Chicago Bears left guard depth chart

Joe Thuney

Thuney will already be remembered as a solid Bears player for what he did in the playoffs last year. Now, he is set to resume his preferred position starting at guard, where he has always played.

Jordan McFadden

McFadden signed with the team in 2025 and stuck on the practice squad. It is a good thing because when the team needed a left tackle in their playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams, they moved Joe Thuney to left tackle and starter, McFadden. They might speak to the confidence they have in McFadden, who will be right on the roster bubble.

Kyle Hergel

Hergel was a UDFA in 2024 who spent the past two years on the New Orleans Saints. Chicago added him to their practice squad late last year and brought him back to compete for a spot this year.

Chicago Bears Right Guard Depth Chart

Jonah Jackson

Jackson was much better with Ben Johnson than he was on the Los Angeles Rams the year prior. Jackson has two years left on his contract before heading to free agency in 2028.

Luke Newman

Newman was a sixth-round pick who got onto the field for 25 snaps as a rookie. He was the backup to Jonah Jackson, who stayed healthy. Newman did show enough promise in the preseason that he is a lock to make the roster and serve as the backup again this year.

Caden Barnett

Barnett is a rookie UDFA from Wyoming. He played right tackle until his senior year, when he switched to right guard. He has a small chance to make the roster.

Garrett Brabdury

Bradbury is the starter for now. The team traded for him because they were short on options, but the NFL draft may have changed how long he stays as the starter.

Logan Jones

The Bears drafted Jones higher than anticipated, which shows that they have expectations for him, not only down the road, but to start early on.

Jaren Kump

Kump is a rookie UDFA from Utah. He started the past three years at center for the Utes, but is mostly looking to make the practice squad in his first season.
