The Chicago Bears switched the attention over the 2025 season. After firing Matt Eberflus and parting ways with Thomas Brown after the season, the Bears landed one of the best coaches this cycle.

Ben Johnson became the next head coach and looks to turn the Bears into a serious threat in the NFC. Johnson is now building his coaching staff for the 2025 season and poached a coach from the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Patrik Walker, the Bears have agreed to terms with Al Harris to become the passing game coordinator. Harris is also a Green Bay Packers legend, playing for them from 2003-2010. The 50-year-old is a member of the Packers Hall of Fame, making this addition that much more interesting.

Bears News: Al Harris Set to Join Bears Coaching Staff

After playing in the league for 14 years with the Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and St. Louis Rams, he went into coaching.

He's held a variety of coaching jobs with the Kansas City Chiefs, FAU, and the Cowboys. From 2020-2024, Harris worked as a defensive backs coach and Assistant head coach.

While he was in Dallas, he played a major role in the development of Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland. Both guys ended up being named to the All-Pro while Harris was around. The Florida native is able to connect with players. The fact that he played in the NFL and was a Pro Bowl defender, his words hold weight.

Harris has constantly been promoted in his coaching career, and this gig in Chicago is the latest one. During Johnson's opening press conference, he took a shot at Packers head coach Matt LaFleur. He said, "I wanted to say in this division. I know that this is the toughest division in football right now. ... To be quite frank with you, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year."

Bringing in a Packers legend is something that will get under Green Bay's nerves even more. This is the latest addition that will add fuel to the Bears/Packers rivalry.
