Much has been made of the comments made by Caleb Williams and his father concerning the Chicago Bears in Seth Wickersham's upcoming book, "American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback."

The past cannot be changed, what's said has been said and now the football world is aware of it. Despite all of that, first-year Bears head coach Ben Johnson could not be less concerned about what Williams, or his father, felt about the regime in Chicago prior to the franchise selecting the quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

While speaking with the media on Wednesday, Johnson addressed the upcoming book as well as what he has encountered since joining the Bears and having the opportunity to work directly with Chicago's franchise quarterback. In Johnson's eyes, Williams has been a consummate professional in their time together and that is all that matters to him.

Ben Johnson Has Been Happy With Caleb Williams

In addition to being impressed with the way Williams has handled himself and approached his craft, Johnson looks at the negative comments as an opportunity to change the narrative around the franchise. The new head coach is excited to make it so that those types of negative thoughts about the Bears are not something Chicago has to work against moving forward.

"I love it. I love the opportunity to come in and change that narrative. That's where great stories are written," Johnson said.

A great story is what Johnson and the Bears are trying to tell as they prepare for the 2025 regular season to kick off this September. With the moves made by the franchise this offseason, Chicago should be much improved on the offensive side of the ball, which, in turn, will put less pressure on the Bears' defense.

With as bright a coaching mind as Johnson has, coupled with the God-given ability possessed by Williams, the Monsters of the Midway should be back in contention sooner rather than later.
