In case you weren't aware, Schefter's words are true. The Bears are among the oldest franchises in the NFL, and they have never once had a passer to throw for over 4,000 yards. They're also the only franchise that hasn't done so.
Talk about embarrassing.
Williams came very close last season, and if you include his playoff numbers, he absolutely cleared it. But we're talking regular season numbers alone. With the Bears' offense poised for another run at the NFC North title, Caleb Williams is expected to take another step forward on his journey in the NFL. A slight boost may be all that's needed to get them over the hump to reach that coveted mark, and allow the Bears to finally join the club that they're sorely not a part of.
