The Chicago Bears' 3-1 start to the season has been quite impressive. However, there are always things to improve on. What are the biggest disappointments on the Bears roster through four weeks?
Biggest disappointments on the Chicago Bears through Week 4
Caleb Williams
Williams did not do much to warrant disappointment. He played great in Week 1. However, getting hurt in Week 2 and not starting in the following two games is disappointing. This season is all about seeing how much growth Williams can show in his second season running a new offense. Now, that is already being delayed.
Colston Loveland
Loveland started slow last year, but not this year; he is playing a lot more, he is just not producing. Loveland has 91 yards through four games and is averaging 0.91 yards per route run. He averaged 1.97 yards per route run last year. Loveland only had 43 yards through four weeks last season, so there is plenty of time for him to explode
However, it is worth remembering that Sam LaPorta did not hit the peaks of his rookie season in the next year with Ben Johnson. Either way, Loveland not producing more is a negative surprise.
Tyrique Stevenson
Stevenson is entering a contract year, and right now he is not earning a big payday. The former second-round pick has allowed three touchdowns in three games. He missed Week 3, and the defense did not miss a beat.
When Kyler Gordon is activated, he is likely going to start in the slot. The Bears' best option might be to push rookie Malik Muhammad to the outside and bench Stevenson. That would be the worst case for Stevenson before he enters free agency. Still, the Bears need to worry about their team, and that is likely what would be best for them.
Neville Gallimore
The Bears signed Gallimore expecting him to have a notable role in the defense. Right now, he is down from 40% of the snaps played for the Colts last year to just 35% of the snaps for the Bears this season. This is on a team that is even thinner up front. Gallimore is not playing because he is not producing. This signing has not worked out.
Garrett Bradbury
Bradbury was praised for his communication in training camp. That might be why he is still starting, as the team has shuffled quarterbacks. His play on the field has been less than stellar, as stronger linemen can bully him. We still might see Logan Jones this year.
