2. Teven Jenkins, G

They say the best ability is availability and the fact of the matter is Jenkins is not available consistently enough to warrant giving him a new contract. He has not played a full season yet in his four-year career.

He is coming off the most games played in a season this past year with 14, but was constantly on and off the field with various injuries. It seemed like he almost never started and finished a game without missing some snaps.

When he is on the field, he is an above-average guard in the NFL. Pro Football Focus ranked him 13th overall amongst guards this past season. However, of the top-15 ranked guards, Jenkins was second-to-last in snaps with just 738.

This next contract will be Jenkins' first after his rookie deal so he will probably be looking to get a big paycheck and some team will surely give it to him. The Bears simply cannot gamble on his health when they have the cap space to go out and sign a prime target such as Trey Smith.

If the Bears do move on from Jenkins, they will need to replace three starters on the offensive line - both guard spots and center. They do have four draft picks in the top 75 and will almost surely be adding to the offensive line with some of those. They also have the fifth-most cap space available in the league so should be in play on any free agents they like without losing to a higher bidder.
