The Chicago Bears are looking to go 2-0 with their backup quarterbacks. In order to do so, they are going to need some players to step up and play better than in recent weeks. Which players could have their best games this week?

5 Chicago Bears who need to step up in Week 4 against the New York Jets

Jaylon Johnson

Johnson struggled in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. He has been a bit better, but has given up a few notable catches in the two weeks after as well. The Bears need a lot more from him if they want to continue to win with a backup. The New York Jets will be without Adonai Mitchell, but Garrett Wilson will not be easy.

When Johnson is on Wilson, he needs to shut him down.

Grady Jarrett

Jarrett has been the only trusted lineman along the interior this season. The Jets offensive line is their strength, but most of that is because they have two young and talented tackles. Their guards have talent, but they can be exposed.

The Bears edge rushers should not be expected to win many individual matchups this week. So, they are going to lean on the interior. It has to be Jarrett this week.

Colston Loveland

The New York Jets have been one of the better teams at defending tight ends so far this season. They allowed just two catches for 15 yards to Tucker Kraft. Then, they followed that up with three catches for 44 yards against Sam LaPorta. Those are two talented tight ends that were held in check.

Aaron Glenn knows what Ben Johnson likes to do, and their focus will be on the tight end room. Loveland has been held in check through three weeks. The Bears need him to break out, and they need to break the Jets' dominance against tight ends.

Malik Muhammad

The play of Muhammad is going to determine what the team does with Kyler Gordon when he returns to the lineup. Chicago’s rookie has played both on the outside and in the slot this season. Where does he look best, and how does he look against the Jets?

Kyle Monangai

Monangai has been taking the back seat to D’Andre Swift so far this year. However, Swift has not been fully healthy so the team should lean a bit more on their second-year running back. Can Monangai step up?
