2. The Bears Will Trade Up in the First or Second Round of the Draft
Ryan Poles has not been one to trade up early in the draft, but did trade down when he selected Darnell Wright allowing the Eagles to come up a couple of spots to grab Jalen Carter. While Carter is now a Super Bowl champion, I wouldn't say that deal was a total loss for Chicago as Wright is currently their best lineman.
This year's draft is not viewed as highly as some of the drafts in years prior. However, there a still a handful of truly elite prospects in the top 8-10 and a bunch of depth at some positions to flood the second round. The Bears currently have four picks in the top 75 including a pair of second-round selections at 39 and 41. If they are infatuated with someone in the first round that potentially slips to that 7-9 range, there is a world where they trade up to get their guy.
If Mason Graham somehow falls to seventh I think it would definitely be worth picking up the phone and seeing what the Jets would want. Will Campbell is another name that will likely go in the top 10, but potentially won't last until 10 where the Bears are. These are the two players in the first round worth a trade-up in my opinion for the Bears.
The second round in many mock drafts is where the Bears snag their running back. The running back class is super deep in this draft after the consensus top guy, Ashton Jeanty. Omarion Hampton has been picking up steam though and can potentially go as early as the first round. If Ben Johnson and the Bears have him high enough on their board, they may need to trade up from 39 to snag him. Kaleb Johnson and TreVeyon Henderson are the other backs with a second-round grade currently so this is another spot the Bears can potentially move up a bit to get their new RB1.
