3. Linebacker
Yahoo Sports reported that 'The 2025 class is full of linebackers who are excellent athletes, but are undersized for the position. You have to wonder how they will hold up at the next level."
They continue to say that "The problem is that college linebackers can find success when they’re a little light in the pants; it’s often hard for them to transition to the NFL, where the game is more physical."
Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen benefited from having veteran linebackers Chase Young, Carl Granderson, and Demario Davis last year with the New Orleans Saints. The Bears have T.J. Edwards, Amen Ogbongbemiga, Tremaine Edmunds, and Noah Sewell.
Adding a young linebacker who already has NFL experience would be an asset to Chicago if they want to end their four-year postseason drought.
Another team in the Midwest with some quality linebacker depth is the Cleveland Browns. They have Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Devin Bush, Jordan Hicks, Jerome Baker, Winston Reid, Mohamoud Diabate, Julian Okwara, and Nathaniel Watson.
Poles would be wise to see if Bush or Baker is on the trading block. Should either linebacker be available, they could perform better than any rookie in the 2025 NFL Draft.
