3 Former Bulls Still Unemployed to Begin November
By Zach Elliott
A handful of games in the rearview, the NBA season is in full gear! With that, we’ve seen teams scramble to adjust to early season returns. New faces are earning roles, and old faces are being signed as injury related vacancies or poor performance necessitates roster additions.
Scanning amongst the remaining free agents, Chicago fans will spot a few familiar faces. Let’s check in on these former Bulls, and what they may be able to provide to a new (or old) squad later this season.
- Justin Holiday, G/F
Long past are Holiday’s day in Chicago, last suiting up in white and red in the 2018-19 season, but the now 35-year-old stands out amongst veterans still on the market.
Playing 15 minutes per game in 58 games for the Denver Nuggets last season, Holiday was a reliable swingman that shot over 40 percent from deep. Naturally, anyone fortunate enough to play next to Nikola Jokic is going to look pretty good, but Holiday also appeared in 12 playoff games as recently as last April, holding his own despite struggling shooting from the field.
A return to Chicago to shore up guard depth behind a newly resuscitated Lonzo Ball and a now-ailing Zach Lavine could be fortuitous, but Holiday still has value regardless. He won’t be on the couch come April.
