We are less than a week away from the Super Bowl LIX. As the Kansas City Chiefs gear up to accomplish an unprecedented three-peat, the Eagles will look to exact revenge for their loss from two seasons ago.

While the Chicago Bears are seemingly too far away from Super Bowl contention any time soon, there are a few former Bears who have a chance to take home the Lombardi Trophy.

Former Bears head coach Matt Nagy is the current Chiefs offensive coordinator and his defensive coordinator in Chicago, Vic Fangio, now holds the same role in Philadelphia. In addition to these key coaches going up against each other, there are three ex-Bears who will take the field.

Former Bears on Chiefs, Eagles Super Bowl Rosters

For the Eagles, fullback Khari Blasingame and linebacker Nicholas Morrow will suit up. Morrow spent the best season of his career as a Chicago Bear in 2022. After appearing in every game and recording a career-high 116 tackles and 11 tackles for loss, Morrow signed with the Eagles in the 2023 offseason. Following a brief stint with the Bills, the veteran linebacker is now back in Philadelphia for their postseason run.

Blasingame joined the Eagles after he was released by the Bears in October. After the Eagles fullback Ben VanSumeren suffered a season-ending injury, Philadelphia has been using Blasingame in that role. The former Bear saw limited offensive snaps and some special teams snaps in Philly's three postseason games.

For the Chiefs, defensive tackle Mike Pennel is the only former Bear who will play a role. The veteran defensive lineman had two stints in Chicago, the last one during the 2022 season. After playing every game for the Bears in 2022, he signed with the Chiefs, where he spent the last two seasons. Along with Chris Jones and Tershawn Wharton, he will continue to have a big role on the interior defensive line.

Pennel will have a chance to win his third Super Bowl ring of his career while this would be the first for Blasingame and Morrow. Regardless of who wins, at least one former Bear will be going home with the Lombardi Trophy.
