3 Bold Predictions for Bears vs. Commanders
3. Rome Odunze has 3+ Touchdowns
Odunze has quietly been one of the better receivers for the Bears this season. Sure, the numbers do not make it look this way but the film does. He is open more times than he isn't, but he and Caleb have unfortunately not been able to connect on a good portion of these. Whether it be him getting held on a double move or a defender being in Williams' face while he is wide open - it just hasn't happened yet. He did have six catches for 112 yards and a touchdown against the Colts, but that has been his best game by far.
The plays are there to be had, so this may be the week things start clicking between the rookie-duo. The Bears have a lot of mouths to feed on offense which is a good problem to have, but this week has the potential to be Odunze's coming-out party. We saw D.J. Moore cook this Commanders team last season for three touchdowns and can likely see it happen again this week with Odunze.
Odunze would likely be the number one option on a slew of teams, but unfortunately has to play behind two very polished veterans to begin his career. His time will definitely come, however, as he is immensely talented and only learning more with each game. We had the D.J. Moore game against the Panthers and the Cole Kmet/Keenan Allen game against the Jaguars - it is time for the Rome Odunze game against the Commanders.
