3. Trey Hendrickson, DE, Cincinnati Bengals

The biggest chance of a blockbuster deal would be Trey Hendrickson. The obvious thing here is that he is one of the premier edge defenders in the league and coming off back-to-back 17.5 sack seasons. Since 2017, he has 77 sacks which is seventh-most in the league during that span. The numbers speak for themselves, he is one the best in the game and any team would welcome him with open arms. He is also 30 years old and may only have a few great years left.

As mentioned with Sam Hubbard, the Bengals will need to make some tough decisions this offseason on who they want to sign. It is very unlikely they are able to extend Chase, Higgins and Hendrickson. Many believe Higgins will hit free agency this year, but we will have to wait and see.

This trade would definitely come with a hefty price tag. He is 30 years old so will not warrant as much if he were in his prime, but you would probably still be looking at multiple second and third-round picks. The Bears do have an extra second-round pick from the Panthers trade and may potentially be looking at two additional third-round picks if Ian Cunningham is hired somewhere. The Jaguars have been rumored to be interested.

The ties to Dennis Allen are easy as Allen was the defensive coordinator of the Saints when they selected Hendrickson in the third round in 2017. The numbers did not pop early in his career as he had only 6.5 sacks in his first three years. He blew up in his fourth year, however, where he had 13.5 sacks. That was likely the reason the Bengals signed him to a 4-year deal worth $60M. He'll likely get one more big contract and the Bears have the cap space to do so if they want.
