3. Tyrique Stevenson - DB

The second-round pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, Tyrique Stevenson has had a miserable few weeks. His ill-fated decision during the infamous Hail Mary collapse against the Commanders made him a lightning rod for criticism from fans.

He was benched for a series the following week. In response, he pulled himself out of practice. One of the theoretical leaders of this defense has been melting down and the front office can't feel like he's dependable.

There's plenty of time for Stevenson to turn things around and refocus. He's a talented player but it's obvious that Ryan Poles needs a backup plan. Stevenson has 28 tackles and an interception TD this year, showcasing his high ceiling. He's in need of a leadership makeover though and at this point, isn't a reliable contributor.

The best version of this defense requires an engaged Stevenson. He's only 24 years old and we shouldn't judge players on their worst moments. Nonetheless, the rest of Stevenson's season will go a long way in telling fans whether or not he should stick around.

Eberflus and his staff are almost certainly gone. The new regime has to decide if Stevenson is a starter or if they'd be better suited recouping some value via trade this offseason.
