3 Bears Making it Easy for Chicago to Say Goodbye in 2025

With how underwhelming the 2024 season has been, the Chicago Bears must make some serious offseason changes — starting with parting ways with these three players.

3. Larry Borom, OT

After displaying a fair bit of potential in his first two NFL seasons, Larry Borom has been trending in the wrong direction ever since then.

The former 2021 fifth-round selection has struggled to provide adequate pass protection since last season and that's only become more evident as the 2024 campaign has gone on. Borom has already allowed a career-worst six sacks despite playing his lowest amount of passing downs (123) since debuting four seasons ago, resulting in an uninspiring 53.3 pass block grade on Pro Football Focus.

Borom's abysmal 2024 performance reached a new low in Week 13 when he gave up five pressures on 23 passing downs against the Lions. For comparison, he had allowed nine total pressures across 96 passing plays ahead of the NFC North showdown, further illustrating how noticeable his struggles are becoming.

Borom's rookie contract finally ends in the offseason and it's hard to imagine GM Poles being too excited to re-sign him. The former Missouri blocker has made it clear that he isn't talented enough to be an everyday starter, let alone a backup tackle, and it might be best for both sides to part ways in the winter.
