The Chicago Blackhawks lost their third consecutive game on Sunday, falling to the Minnesota Wild 4-1 in Minneapolis. Lukas Reichel was a healthy scratch and did not play, which we will get to in a bit. Connor Bedard kept his streak of road games with a point alive, assisting on the lone goal for the Hawks scored by Taylor Raddysh. But all-in-all the offense of the Hawks could not get more shots to find the back of the goal, the defense struggled to find its groove, and the Wild did more than enough to secure their third consecutive victory.

While remembering this season is more about the development of the young talent as opposed to the wins and losses, you still want to see a consistent effort being given on a nightly basis. Sunday’s game saw an effort come and go with really no consistency at all.

The Hawks have a healthy dose of home ice coming in the next two weeks, hosting 4 in a row at the United Center to the Nashville Predators, Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues, and Washington Capitals. There’s nothing the fans would like to see more than the Hawks stay in these games and give the crowd some competitive hockey, particularly and especially against the Predators and the Blues.

The struggle was real, there is no question about it. The Hawks cannot put a full game together, it seems, and it is painful to see at times. But there were three main things to take away from the Blackhawks loss on Sunday.
