The Chicago Blackhawks have another veteran on the ice who is helping things along.

The Blackhawks were just a handful of plays away from being able to stay in this game. Arguably, they were never out of it.

We see teams erase a 2-3 goal deficit late in the third all the time. But these are the times and plays the young guys in this core will remember as they continue to develop.

After the fallout of the Corey Perry drama, the Blackhawks made a trade to acquire Anthony Beauvillier from the Vancouver Canucks. Beauvillier spent the beginning of his career with the New York Islanders when their championship window was wide opened.

This small move for a guy who has been around winning and is hungry to win is going to help the development of this young core and provide depth to a depleting roster.

Beauvillier had a very quiet debut with the Blackhawks, taking just 2 shots in almost 17 minutes of ice time. But you have to believe a lot of tonight was to feel out the system for him.

He will continue to get ice time and be out on the first and second lines. This is a guy you probably want Bedard and Lukas Reichel to be around, certainly more so than Perry.
