The Chicago White Sox get a top-line starter with more years of club control in this deal.

The Braves make this move if they want a starting rotation of Spencer Strider, Max Fried, Cease, Charlie Morton, and Smith-Shawver while keeping a lot of their young pitching prospects.

Again, the Sox need to get as much ace potential back if they are going to give up their current ace.

Elder is still not even arbitration-eligible until 2026.

He had a 3.28 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP in his first full season in the big leagues. Elder posted a 4.42 FIP and finished as a 1.8 fWAR player. Elder was much better in the first half than the second.

This would be a massive get for Chris Getz. He would need a major bidding war to pry Elder away. It cannot be stated enough but Getz would also need Atlanta to have strong motivation to want to keep the bulk of their young pitchers.

Getting a productive pitcher who is 25 and still under team control for years means the Chicago White Sox are probably not going to get a lot of extra prospects.

Dodd made seven starts last season and got roughed up. The lefty still has promise. He just needs to adjust to pitching to better hitters.

If he can get turned around, he has the potential to be a good No. 4 starting pitching from the left side.

Quintero is a switch hitter who does not have a ton of pop. He does get on base as Quintero has a career .352 on-base percentage in four minor league seasons. He flies around the basepath with his tremendous speed.
