The Chicago White Sox get some promising young arms in this proposal.

The Braves are probably going to have to give up AJ Smith-Shawver in any Cease deal. The Sox need to get a potential ace pitcher back.

They could also try to entice Getz with a couple of their other promising young arms like Waldrep who projects to be a top-of-the-rotation pitcher. He was Atlanta’s top pick in the most recent draft.

The 21-year-old righty went from pitching for the Florida Gators to reaching Triple-A. He posted a combined 1.53 ERA across all four levels of the minors. All three of his pitches are above average with this fastball topping out at 99mph.

He could compete for a job in the Sox rotation or spend a few months in the minors and then be up sometime in 2024.

Schwellenbach is the Braves third-best prospect, right behind Waldrep, who can throw some heat. His fastball also tops out at 99 and he mixes in a swing-and-miss slider along with a sinking changeup.

He was a shortstop in high school and most of his college career. Schewellenbach only started pitching in 2021 when he was at Nebraska. He needed Tommy John surgery, so last season was his first year throwing professionally.

Schwellenbach did all right for himself with a 2.49 ERA and 55 strikeouts between Low and High-A ball.

Murphy is Atlanta’s fifth-ranked prospect and their first-round selection in the 2022 draft. He was the Gatorade Player of the Year for Illinois that year. He does not exactly throw smoke out there with his fastball, but all four of his pitches are effective.

He had a 4.72 ERA between Low and High-A but he was never truly roughed up.

Franklin is a left-handed power bat who has crushed 47 home runs in his three seasons in the minors. Although, the outfielder has yet to get Triple-A because he only played in 15 games in 2022 as he needed Tommy John surgery.
