Reports heading into the Chicago Bears game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night were that team president Kevin Warren was preparing to have a greater impact on football operations.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer made the indication last week that Warren may be preparing to move on from Matt Eberflus as the Bears’ head coach with the idea being that the former Big Ten commissioner wants to have his own guy.

That is why the image originating from the Bears’ locker room after their 12-10 victory over the Vikings on Monday was curious.

As Eberflus was addressing his team, Warren was pictured standing side-by-side with general manager Ryan Poles.

Chicago Bears’ president Kevin Warren may have sent a message without having to say a single word on Monday night.

Let’s be very clear, Warren is a very meticulous executive. Warren has been very intentional with when he has been seen on camera this season. Whether it was seen taking notes during the Bears’ blowout loss to the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this season or nodding in agreement with Eberflus on Monday night, Warren is very intentional with the decisions that he makes.

After losing the first four games of the season, the Bears have now gone 4-4 in their last 8 games. The Bears’ ability to play .500-football could be taken as a sign of progress. The defense has shown vast improvement since Eberflus took over play-calling.

Was Warren’s cameo on Monday night meant to serve as an endorsement of the direction the team is headed in? The only scenario where that may exist is if Eberflus convinces Warren and Poles that offensive coordinator Luke Getsy is the problem.
