Sunday was a great day to be a Chicago Bears fan.

We don’t have to talk too much about the Sunday morning game in Germany between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots as that was a game that was played and is all that needs to be said about that matchup. The fact that the NFL was using photographs of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady should tell you that they knew it was bad a matchup.

Though, Bears fans may need to keep an eye on how the Patriots finish the season. The Patriots are now 2-8 on the season and it does not appear that they will win another game this season. The same can also be said about the New York Giants. The good news, for the Bears, is that the Patriots and Giants do play each other in two weeks so barring a tie, one of these two teams will reach three wins on the season.

But, the biggest news for the Bears is that Kyler Murray returned for the Arizona Cardinals and led the team on a comeback game-winning drive against the Atlanta Falcons. The Cardinals now have two wins on the season but with Murray now back, it would seem that there will be more wins for Arizona before the end of the season.

Kyler Murray’s return for the Arizona Cardinals was massive for the Chicago Bears as they look to have the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Of course, the reason all this matters for the Bears is because of the positioning for the 2024 NFL Draft. The Cardinals entered Week 10 projected to have the first overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft and that is now an honor that can be bestowed upon the Carolina Panthers after Sunday’s slate of games.

This means that if the season ended today, the Bears would be the team drafting first overall given they have the rights to the Panthers’ first-round selection.

Moving forward, it would seem that the Patriots and Giants will be the biggest roadblocks in front of the Bears and landing the first overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Next. The Bears missed on another quarterback. dark
