Losers

Not everybody played well in the big win for the Chicago Bears on Thursday.

1. Tyson Bagent

Yes, Tyson Bagent is a really good story. He makes everyone smile because he is just truly lucky to be here in this league based on his career path.

Now, the question becomes can he be a sustained success type of quarterback in this league? Well, his performance against the Panthers says no. There is no doubt that he is not an NFL QB at this stage of the game.

The game was close because both teams were terrible. Part of the reason that the Bears are terrible is because they don’t get good QB play. Bagent had no touchdowns or interceptions in this one but he only went 20/33 for 162 yards. This is just not good enough.

Justin Fields is not the guy for Chicago but he is worlds better than Bagent. It would be nice to see the Bears get Justin back ASAP so they can finish strong with him before the mysteries of the off-season.

2. Velus Jones Jr.

Velus Jones Jr. ended up being a healthy scratch in this game. Yes, the weak Carolina Panthers were on the other side and they still decided to make this move. It is well deserved though as he has simply just not played very well.

It is pretty clear that the Bears are done with him as they’d rather see what they have in other players on the field. For not being dressed in a game like this, he is one of the losers of the game.

Of all the players that played for them this year, Jones Jr. is probably the most likely not to be back so seeing him healthy scratched was also pretty tough. You never want to see these guys fail but it is going to happen here and there. We wanted to see him succeed but it just wasn’t in the cards for him.

How can anyone call you a loser of the game if you didn’t play? Well, that is easy. If you don’t play because of how bad you were in the past, that is a win for the opposing team and a loss for you. We’ll see if he ever gets back in there again. That is tough if he doesn’t.
